Nagash: The Undying King Review

Hi all

With the events from Malign Portents, and the up and coming Death battletome, i thought it would be a good time to read, and post a review of Nagash: The Undying King.

This book is set during the Age of Chaos around the same time as Mannfred is helping defend Hellstone, this is referred to in the audio dramas.

Khorne has been struggling to fully invade Shyish do to the harsh environment, so Nurgle decide to give it a go as they are far more survivable. A force of Nurgle Deamons and The Order of the Fly are on the war path, their goal is one of the last remaining strongholds. The Mandible. This is a lot harder as it seems however as they constantly have obstacles thrown in their way.

On the other side, a people called the Rictus are are in preparation to defend the Mandible, with the help of not just 1, but 2 Mortarchs. Arkhan the Black and Neferata. The latter having her own agenda of course. All the while, a dark force is regaining strength in Stygix.

I believe this is easily the best Age of Sigmar novel that I have read so far, and really is a must for any fans of Death. This novel shows the lives of the normal mortals in the realm of death, and does not include any of the unbelievable, farfetched and in some cases just silly moments that have happened in the previous novels.

Please comment your thoughts in the comments below. Also, please let me know if you would like me to go into more detail of the story and give away spoilers in my reviews in the future.

Take care :-)
